Printed and Embroidered on Fabric
Unfortunately, when Iranian women pass away, a flower or candle picture is used in their funeral announcement instead of their own picture. I think that when our dear ones die, their image is the last thing that remains for us, and it's a relentless thing to remove the picture of the person we've been living with for many years, with all of their facial lines. The identity of any person finds meaning in their faces, so I photographed the face of a woman and pixelated it and embroidered a flower inside of those pixels. For the typeface of the posters, I chose the word that older and extremely fanatic people used as a substitute for a wife's name, especially when they died, this word somehow means "belonging" to a man. Like a property.
